Elisabet Albareda is senior director and deputy head of K2 Intelligence’s Madrid office.
Before joining K2 Intelligence, Elisabet spent five years at Kroll, where she managed high-profile international corporate projects, primarily in the areas of M&A and market entry. She conducted research and published analytical reports on macroeconomic, financial, political, and regulatory issues.
Elisabet has also worked as a political analyst at the Presidency of the European Union, based in Washington, D.C. In that role, she represented the EU Luxembourg Presidency in various initiatives with foreign governments and other constituencies and reported to EU headquarters on key areas of EU-US relations.
Previously, she was a researcher at the Political and Justice & Home Affairs Division within the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States, monitoring information flow from international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), as well as government agencies, think tanks, conferences, and congressional subcommittee hearings. She was also a lecturer in Spanish economics at South Bank University, London.
Elisabet has a B.A. in political science from the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). She did postgraduate research in economics and international relations at Georgetown University and Universidad Autónoma (Madrid), focusing on US-EU relations, European Union policies, interstate security, European Union enlargement, and security issues in Europe.
She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalán. Elisabet also speaks conversational Italian.
